MSN Messenger LIVE 8 LOG IN PROBLEM
I had firstly the error number 1601. After searching on the net, I've fixed it by activating the windows installer "services". But now, I launch the setup, a window appears with the message "click next to install Windows live messenger", and when I click on the next button, the window disappears and nothing else.

Uninstall a Program....uninstall Windows Live Messenger. Go to the following link...and download an EARLIER version of Windows Live Messenger. Note: I installed Version 8 (Build 8.0.0812.00). WLM 8 will not install
I've uninstalled MSN 8.x series and installed 7.5 which does NOT exhibit this behavior, so it is clearly something to do with version 8.0. I find msnmsgr.exe (this is MSN Messenger Live 8.0) has connect to my remote PC that I just connected to via pcAnywhere (even though I've terminated the pcAnywhere

I am able to sign into Windows Messenger 4.7 just fine. I was not aware these are 2 separate programs. I still have the problem of being unable to download Windows Live Messenger 8 even if I disable my Norton's. Any suggestions? I will try that later today and advise if it does not work. Thanks.
